Keeping an Eye on things 👀The story of Mogli…Mogli first came to us at Elston in 2025 and was seen for the recurrence of a sore eye. This eye had been bothering him on and off for a while and seemed to get worse every 18 months or so.When the eye was bad, it was weepy and Mogli would squint. In the past the eye was treated and seemed to improve for a time but never completely resolved. Eye problems are always worth being seen for as they can worsen rapidly and risk your pets vision. Kristina, one of the Elston Vets with a certificate in feline medicine, saw Mogli and performed a full physical exam and ophthalmic exam.A special dye was put in the eye to look for any cuts or ulcers. Pictures below show Mogli being very good for his exam. Through examination and a thorough discussion with Mogli’s owner, it was likely that Mogli had a virally induced ulcer of the cornea.Respiratory viruses in cats can be acquired at a young age and then recur later in life, causing eye ulcers, weepy eyes, sneezing and signs of cat flu. Mogli was prescribed a special anti viral eye drop and antibiotic drops to treat his ulcer and after a few weeks of dedicated care by his owner, he was back to normal.Giving medication to cats is not easy so we are always happy to help and show owners how to do this. Mogli is back to his happy content self and we look forward to seeing him for check ups. 🐈🐾🧡 ... See MoreSee Less
